- TRE | Ehbodywork
TRE Tension & Trauma Release Exercises TRE is a series of 7 simple exercises that activate the bodies natural tremoring mechanism. The tremors calm the nervous system and allow the body to release long held patterns of tension, stress and trauma. Mammals will involuntarily shake after a stressful event to release the protective and defensive patterns of fight, flight and freeze. Although mammalian, the human brain tends to suppress this instinct as the mind has been conditioned to view shaking as a sign of weakness. TRE reconnects us with this innate natural bodily reflex. There are 3 ways you can get involved, depending on your starting point. 1 Group Intro to TRE 5 week Block Small Group - 4 people max 3/3/25- 31/3/25 6pm -7.10pm @shoreline yoga studio Bath Street - Portobello £99 for the block Over the 5 weeks • Activate and stop the natural tremor mechanism within the body to release patterns of stress and tension. • Become at ease with the tremors and experience how they change and move through the body. • Explore somatic ways to ground and regulate the nervous system, body and mind. • Learn basic neurophysiology of stress and trauma, and the role of the vagus nerve. • Develop a self practice. In time the body can shake in any position, whenever you want it to! If you have experienced any significant, longstanding or complex trauma - group sessions would not be a good starting point. 1:1 sessions or referral is advised. Get in touch BOOKINGS 2 Monthly Group Shake A group session for people who are comfortable with the tremors and have practiced several times before. Intention is to hold space to ground, shake in community, ask questions and share insights around the practice. Dates 6/1/25 - 3/2/25 - 3/3/25 BOOKINGS 3 1:1 Sessions Some people prefer individual work. I offer in person or online. 1:1 session - 75 mins - £65 Package of 3 sessions - £165 Get in touch if you are interested. ABOUT Hello and welcome. I am Ellie, a clinical and sports massage therapist with 14 years experience. I love working with people to get their bodies moving and feeling better. I graduated from Leeds University in 2004 with a degree in Sports science. I worked in youth development engaging young people in sport, exercise and wellbeing. My obsession with massage therapies began in 2010 when I signed up to a Swedish Massage course at the weekends. After that massage and physical therapy has evolved into my career. I think massage has a place for everyone. In the simplest terms, touch soothes and calms. It can return you to your para sympathetic nervous system, the part of your nervous system that cues healing, growth and connection. Yes we need movement and strengthening to adapt the tissues but if we also need rest and recovery. In my experience of working with others and my own chronic pain, getting the balance between stimulus and recovery is key. Each and every one of us have unique lives, personalities and patterns of pain. Communication of needs is key and I like to work with people to develop exercises or practices that will support you and your life in a manageable way. Since becoming obsessed with massage I have qualified in: 2011 - Swedish Massage 2013 - Sports and Remedial Massage 2014 - Taping 2014 - Advanced Stretching techniques 2015 - Pregnancy Massage 2018 - Exercise Rehabilitation 2018 - Scar tissue 2020 - Clinical Massage 2020 - Trigger point Therapy 2021 - Advanced Myofascial Release 2023 - L6 Btec Advanced Clinical and Sports massage 2024 - TRE (tension & trauma release exercises) I am fully insured and a member of the SMA.
